#MeetTheProgram
This 4-week long program aims to introduce students to the current social, cultural and political agenda of gender, diversity and social justice in the Latin America. As a multi- disciplinary program, it focuses on the historical and political processes to understand social and cultural complexity related to gender and diversity of the region and the political strategies developed by different social actors, such as women, feminist and LGBT movements to achieve their political goals to generate cultural and social changes. Through the seminar, offered in English, students will analyze the context in which these social-political movements emerged; how they developed and articulated demands and strategies, and what are the unresolved issues related to social justice and equality in the region. The program will also focus on the social constructions around Latin American masculinities (“machismo”) and sexual political dimensions across the Americas.
