This intensive 4-week program, aims to review public policies related to renewable energy and their relationship to sustainable development models on a local and global level. Throughout the seminar, taught in English, students will be able to analyze issues such as the exploitation of renewable and non-renewable energy resources; their relationship with the search for more efficient and effective solutions for present-day environmental problems, and the connection between renewable energy and sustainable development. Students will also analyze how different country’s energy systems have been modified and how these changes affect different stakeholders.

START-END DATES: July 6 – August 1, 2020

APPLICATION DEADLINE: June 10, 2020

DURATION: 4 weeks
CREDIT LOAD: 4 (USA) – The courses designed within the program are 60 total hours, grant 4 semester credits (USA- Credits) or 2 ECTS (Europe) and transfer final grades for each course.
LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION: English
LOCATION: Buenos Aires, Argentina – FLACSO Argentina
SPANISH LANGUAGE ENROLLMENT: A 15-hour total Spanish course is offered, which aims to provide tools for a better linguistic immersion in the day-to-day and to increase technical vocabulary related to the topics addressed in the program.

ACADEMICS

As part of the learning methodology, the class is carried out inside and outside the classroom with a dynamic and interactive teaching model based on lectures, readings and debates in classes. The program presents students with the opportunity to interview different activists and decision-makers in the field of environmental public policies an agenda of visits to companies and organizations linked to this field is also organized.
