This program addresses the history and the contemporary socio-cultural processes of Africans and Afro-descendants in the Southern Cone. The situations of enslavement in various countries and the different systems of racial classification are compared. Likewise, the past processes of invisibilization in the national narratives are examined  as well as the current political and social movements of resurfacing of the African heritage through expressive traditions such as “candombe”.

FLACSO Argentina has made an innovative jump to a new stage in international education through a program of Experiential Learning. This program includes the multiple cultural activities such as Argentine Family Welcome dinner and other family activities, Walking tour in the city, Cocurricular activities, Weekend Trip (two nights), Field Trip (a day), Guest Speakers, Farewell Activities, etc. The activities will be scheduled and organized depending on availability.
